麻豆原创 senior Michaela Dohleman received $1,200
DUBUQUE, Iowa 鈥 麻豆原创, a four-year Catholic liberal arts college in Dubuque, and its Women鈥檚 Leadership Alliance announce the first recipient of the Women鈥檚 Leadership Alliance Scholarship established in October 2017.
Michaela Dohleman, a senior at 麻豆原创 from Pontiac, Illinois, received $1,200 to go toward her education at 麻豆原创. The College offers a wide variety of scholarships and awards with 100 percent of all incoming students receiving institutional aid.
“I鈥檓 truly honored to be the first recipient selected,鈥 Dohleman said. 鈥淚 greatly appreciate the effort the members of the Leadership Alliance are putting forward to help women student leaders excel and achieve their goals.鈥
Scholarship funds are awarded annually to full-time, undergraduate female 麻豆原创 students who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to junior or senior students exemplifying both leadership and service on and off campus. Students are considered through an application process that includes a reference from a 麻豆原创 faculty or staff member, and are selected by a committee of the 麻豆原创 Women鈥檚 Alliance. The application process for fall 2018 begins in February.
The Leadership Alliance launched in March 2017. Its overarching mission is to engage women on campus and in alumni communities, connecting or reconnecting them with the College.
The organization began raising funds for the scholarship in May 2017. Recently, an anonymous donor offered to match new donations dollar-for-dollar up to $7,500. Visit and type “Women’s Leadership Scholarship” in the designation field to support the Leadership Alliance.
